Textured Metal Class

Come and join in the fun, exploring how to texture metal and make one-of-a-kind earrings (3 to 4 pairs) or a bracelet.  They make great gifts! You may also learn how to make your own ear wires.

Instructors: Diane Hall and Annie Heffner

Cost: $50 per day, plus materials cost.  Club membership required.

Materials: Based on current market prices at the time of purchase.  You will need about 1 ounce of silver or copper sheet, which we will purchase for everyone who is signed up by the deadline.  Sign ups after that will need to provide their own material.

Carved Bangle Class

In this class you will learn how to carve a strip of sterling silver wire to create a tiled look. Then you will learn how to pattern it with a variety of textures using files, stamps and chasing tools. You will hallmark, shape and solder this into a bangle and then polish it, creating a one of a kind bracelet.

Silver Chain Class

This is a two-day basic chain class.  The students will learn to twist and link fine silver jump rings to create an elegant chain suitable for hanging a pendant or wearing plain.

Instructors: Annie Heffner

Cost: $100, plus materials cost (based on current precious metals market prices).  Club membership required.

Chasing and Repoussé Class

This is a 25-hour introductory chasing and repoussé class. Chasing and repoussé is an ancient technique that uses hammers and chasing tools to move a malleable metal from a flat sheet to a three dimensional design. In this beginning class you will use the provided tools and pitch bowl to learn the basic techniques of this art form. Day 5 will be a class on tool making so you can learn to make your own tools if you wish.

Chasing Workshop*

This 4 hr. workshop is for those who have completed the 5-day Chasing & Repoussé class and want to continue developing their skills. Bring your project, tools, and pitch bowl.

* PRE-REQUISITE: Students must have completed the 5-day Chasing & Repoussé Class.
