Palomar Gem and Mineral Club

Welcome to the Palomar Gem and Mineral Club!

Would you like to learn how to create beautiful jewelry?
Facet a gemstone?

Learn to use lapidary equipment?
Go rockhounding?
Discover exciting facts about gems and minerals?

All of these activities and more are available to members of the Palomar Gem and Mineral Club!

The Palomar Gem and Mineral Club is proud to offer our club members the opportunity to learn how to do all these things and more.  At our lapidary workshop in Escondido, skilled shop supervisors are available to show you how to cut and polish gemstone cabochons, suitable for wire-wrapping or other jewelry designs.  Our workshop has a great selection of lapidary equipment for use by our members, including several grinders, slab saws, trim saws, and polishers.

Members are eligible to take any of our exciting and fun classes.  Check out our monthly calendar for upcoming classes.

We offer classes in gemstone faceting, silversmithing, woven wire jewelry, gem and mineral identification, and much more.  New classes are added frequently so check back often for the latest opportunities.

General Meetings

Our club meets on the third Wednesday of each month, excluding the month of August, at Redwood Terrace in Escondido.  Each month, we offer interesting and informative presentations that are open to the general public.  Refreshments are served.  For more information, please click here.
